Description 

Course Description -This 16-hour course is designed to provide officers and investigators with an overview of Human Trafficking, discuss legal issues and laws, preparing for an operation, and the knowledge and techniques to conduct sex trafficking investigations, including preparation for court testimony. The class will also provide students with an overview of Internet investigations, using open source tools, and tools available for law enforcement investigating Human Trafficking. This class will also introduce investigators to a variety of tools and methods to collect and preserve digital evidence in human trafficking cases. Students will also be able to participate and learn, while using the mobile computer lab provided as part of this training.

Who Should Attend - Law enforcement personnel who have an interest, or assigned to work human trafficking investigations.

Course Objectives - Upon completion of this course, students will have a good understanding of the following:

  2. Understanding of the pimping subculture
  3. Understanding victimology surrounding human trafficking
  4. Overview of HT operations
  5. Conducting Social Media and Internet investigations
  6. Using Open Source Intelligence
  7. Tools and techniques available to collect and preserve digital evidence
  8. Mobile device evidence and tools available for law enforcement
